Recently sold by Dragone, this is the ultimate brass car: a double chain drive 1913 Simplex 50 Horsepower Tourer. This car has its original Quinby body, original engine, and chassis.
Very rare when it comes to Simplex’s. It has spectacular provenance as it was owned by the famous collector David Tunick of Greenwich, Connecticut who owned the car for over 70 years.
THE CAR COMPETED IN THE 1968 TRANSCONTINENTAL RELIABILITY TOUR. A REENACTMENT OF THE "GREAT RACE"
ORIGINALLY RUN IN 1908. THE SIMPLEX CAME IN SECOND AND WE WON THE FIRESTONE TROPHY. THE CAR WAS CLOCKED BY RENO NEVADA STATE TROOPERS AT OVER 70 MPH
